Senior Consultant
Benjamin Häusler is a Senior Consultant at idalab. A statistician by training, he works with biotech R&D teams on data engineering, machine learning and statistical models for drug discovery — from data model design to production pipelines. His focus is on getting the fundamentals right: clean, well-structured data that makes downstream analysis reliable and reproducible, even for the most advanced science.
At idalab he has worked on proteomics data pipelines, ML models for target identification, and the kind of data infrastructure work that rarely gets the credit it deserves.

From volcano plots to biologically stratified effect plots in proteomics
Past the volcano plot lies something more useful: visualisations that put the biology, not the p-value, back at the center of the story.

Are volcano plots really the best tool to understand your data?
From calling them a mere starting point to a complete visual distraction, proteomics experts are challenging the status quo. Here is why.
